Post-Merger Integration Consulting, Built Around People
Geist Point Advisors creates custom integration strategies that align leadership, unify cultures, and safeguard deal value — without cookie-cutter playbooks.

The Challenges You Face
The ink is drying, but conversations are already shaping the deal. From hallway chatter to leadership meetings, the people side of integration determines whether employees lean in — or check out.
That’s why so many mergers and acquisitions lose value. While the financial models are sound, the human factors often go unmanaged. Culture clashes, unclear communication, and leadership misalignment create resistance long before new strategies take hold.
At Geist Point Advisors, we address these challenges head-on. Drawing from advanced research in organizational leadership, we recognize that informal networks, leadership alignment, and cultural integration all play critical roles in protecting deal value. Our approach ensures that people are not an afterthought, but the foundation of a successful integration.

During his eight years of service in U.S. Army aviation, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Greg held leadership roles that required guiding teams through complex, high-pressure operations. These experiences shaped his enduring leadership philosophy: clarity of mission, trust in people, and disciplined execution.
Following his military service, Greg pursued advanced education to deepen his understanding of leadership and organizational dynamics. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership and an MBA, completing doctoral research focused on how informal communication networks (“the grapevine”) influence employee commitment during M&A integrations.
In addition to leading Geist Point Advisors, Greg serves in Business Development with Corporate Finance Associates, a 67-year-old investment bank, where he supports middle-market firms through research, marketing strategy analysis, and relationship development.
With over two decades of leadership experience across military and business contexts, Greg combines academic rigor, analytical insight, and proven leadership to guide organizations through complex integrations.

What the Research Shows
70–90% of M&A deals fail to achieve their intended value
Most failures come from cultural misalignment and leadership breakdown, not financial miscalculations. (Cartwright & Schoenberg, 2006; Christensen et al., 2011)Up to one-third of employees leave within the first year of a poorly managed integration
Turnover spikes when employees feel disconnected, uncertain, or culturally misaligned. (Marks & Mirvis, 2011)Informal communication networks shape employee commitment
Studies show that grapevine communication plays a critical role in how employees respond to integration, influencing trust, alignment, and retention. (Priebe, 2023; Weber & Camerer, 2003)Culture consistently outweighs strategy in post-merger outcomes
Aligned cultures retain talent, accelerate synergy capture, and protect deal value. (Sarala et al., 2016)
